Getting ready to grow in a few greens. T1 bent sodded for a practice facility, yet to decide on a putting green. Was thinking of seeding a newer variety of bent, or growing in plugs pulled from our 50 year old penncross poa greens. What are your thoughts and concerns. Thanks in advance for the responses.

Personally I would grow in the putting green using plugs from the golf course greens for the sake of consistency.

The new bent varieties are awesome. The Penn A series is very drought tolerant and is the closest i have found to poa annua when it comes to putting surfaces and appearance. I am at a 90 plus year old club with our share of poa and it has worked out very nice. Just saying deep roots no seed heads reduced inputs stronger turf. JMO
