We used to use the red, white, blue flag system to distinguish front, middle, and back pin locations. We went away from that system about 9 years ago, and adopted a system that we used all the same color flags and put pin location chart on scorecards. Our head pro wants to go back to a colored flag system, but he would prefer not to go with red, white, and blue. Just curious as to what colors others may be using for this system and if you are using red, white, and blue, please let me know.
    Thanks
    Paul

I've gone back and forth with this for a long time.  We tried the scorecard thing, using a slidding pin depth notification on the flagstick with a same colored top flag, and the three colored flag system.  By far the accuracy is in the three colored flag system.  To easy to not properly communicate the scorecard to the golfer, and the grommets that slid up and down the flagstick seemed to move throughout the day.  I think some of it was golfers thinking they new best, and some was just plain UV degradation and the ring would slip.

I've gone to Red, Yellow, and blue checkered with black flags, white inset with our logo.  We simply have an extra flag and stick on our cup cutting cart and change the entire stick to keep the flags cleaner during our rotation plan.

We use red/white, yellow/black and blue/white checkered flags. It seems to work the best for us. I jump around changing cups so I carry a container with 3 extra of each color and I used to unscrew the nut and change the flag but 2 years ago added the quick release top stud and just pop the flag off and pop a new one on to save a little time.
