For the winter we cut three cups on each green and use the rubber cup covers on the two holes that are not in use and just rotate the pin each day. So we don't have to cut cups as often and deal with the plugs not healing as fast. The only issue has been with animals, I think coyotes, digging up the covers and messing up the holes. Anybody have any experience with this? Any ideas on something we could put on the covers that would keep them away?

    Thanks for your help

Try Cayenne pepper. We tried soaking the covers over night in a mixture of cayenne pepper and water. Also tried sprinkling some directly on the cover. Just wear gloves.....

    Good Luck!

Cayenne Pepper is what I have heard too. Put vegetable oil down first so the pepper has something to stick to.

Thanks guys, we had thought about doing something like that. How often do you have to re-apply? I'm sure it will wear of with some rain.

At a previous course we had issues with foxes digging up cups and digging holes in a green. I just sprinkled some cayenne powder around the new cup and over the areas that they were digging. One treatment and they left it alone.

As for reapplication I think after a few weeks they started to dig again so we repaired the damage and reapplied.
