What kind of brushes are people using, on greens for decreasing grain. Just wondering because I saw one from a distance on a toro triplex and was wondering if i could put something on my John deere and jac walk mowers, or jac triplex.

    thanks for the responses

We have them on our JD 220E walk mowers, ordered them directly from Deere, very happy with them.

Build your own.... We've built 4 of these now for about $75 each.

What did you use for your brush head?

I would tell you to look at the Rod Lingle brushes, but after he decided to sue Atlanta Athletic Club after the PGA, I would look elsewhere.

I try to get something up later this week. They were pretty easy to build. We used some stiff bristle push broom heads from Lowes. Our oldest one is going on about 3 years now with no repairs done to it.

Is all the weight on the brushes or does the connections on the mower hold some of the weight? Do the brushes raise with the buckets?

Due to the racist overtones of your post I anticipate a deletion coming.

The brushes are free floating. We welded bolts on the front where we can add/remove old bedknives to increase/decrease the aggressiveness. The brush lifts with the reels using the bolt on top of the lift arm.

Right on top of the brush. You can't see them on this brush, but our others have two bolts welded to the angle iron on top of the brush. Pop a few bednives on with a nut and off you go. But, for the most part, these brushes are pretty good without them if you are using them on a daily use.
