What, if anything, are any of you doing for Zoysia Patch? Fungicides, timing etc.?

    Thanks,

    Max

    Max,

Great question. We have had issues with zoysia patch in southern Indiana for many years. The past couple of years has been much better with the help of Tebuconizole. We all use the generic version from qualipro or armor tech. I have been making 4 apps. Of this product each year because it is so cheap compared to other fungicides like Prostar. My first application goes down during the first week after tent up. This is usually late March to early April here. I then wait 30 days to make my second spring application and then I am done until fall. I usually make my first application in the fall around the end of September. I wait 30 days and reapply right before dormancy. I think the label rate for the product is 24 oz. per acre. We use 27 oz. This product has allowed me to go through the last 2 years with no visual zoysia patch. By the way, I have been told by a turf pathologist that there has never been a resistant strain of brown patch towards any fungicide found and the price of teby keeps going down. Life is good! Hope this helps. Run with it.

I can also verify that Tebuconazole works very well. I've sprayed it the label rate the past 2 years in split apps one in Sept and one in Oct. Haven't seen any zoysia patch yet or any other patch disease for that matter. I've also heard you can do the high rate in Sept and the low rate in Oct. Works out to the same amount just hits it harder at the beginning of fall.

Tebuconazole. .6oz rate in fall and spring. Super effective and cheap.

Haven't used Banner but have thought about it. Been using Torque for 3 years. Great result and very cost effective!

    James,

I have been using Tebuconizole by qualipro for 4 years now. This is the post patent version of Torque. $30 per acre. 26 oz. per acre. We make 4 treatments each year. Go for it!

I am using Prostar 70 (Flutolanil) about 3 times a year and have had no luck with any other chemicals.
