I was just curious if anyone uses wetting agent tablets/pellets on your bentgrass greens. I have used then occasionally. I put a full wetting agent application on the entire green every 4 weeks but may use a pellet when spot watering here and there. I have never seen any ill effects, but some say not to use then on bentgrass greens due to potential burn? Has anyone seen problems from using them. Thoughts? Thanks.

Be careful of Advantage wetting agent cans. If your pressure is too high it will tend to blow out of your applicator in little tidbits about the size of a grain of rice. Those WILL burn and kill the turf, making a dime sized dead spot on your bent. We switched to the Retain Maxx pellets and are pretty happy with them. We spray Revolution on our greens once a month, and use the Retain pellets for spot watering. Have seen no adverse effects.

Precision has a liquid applicator that screws in the end of your hose. This way you dont have to deal with the tablets and can use whatever you like that is a liquid.

I love my liquid applicator and run more than just wettting agents through it.

I have been haveing great success with using both products. I use a wetting agent every 4 weeks on bentgrass greens and tablets on hotspots and collars. I use Lesco tablets and have never caused anything to burn. Ive had .63 in since May 3rd with nothing in the past 13 days and been 85+ everyday. I use the tablets only in the morning. Making sure its watered in a decent amount and then come back in the afternoon and syringe those areas. WIth both products and using this method a hot spot is gone in 2-3 days. Although this year by the time I get one LDS fixed, another one starts.

    Please let it Rain!!!!

I made a mistake in my previous post. The liquid applicator is from Underhill, not Precision. If your interested, here's a link to the purhcase page:

No, I dont work for Underhill but this is a good product :)

Do you water these in or just apply them and leave it? It has always made me nervous using any tablet and not watering it in afterwards. Then, it becomes so time consuming it's not worth it to me.

The beauty of the liquid applicator is that you can dial it down to zero and water in without even turning off the water. I try to put the wetting agent in the area I want it in the soil profile and have never seen burn from a tablet that I have used. The old Lesco guy would always tell me that I had to water in the LescoWet tablets after I put them out. Needless to say, I didnt buy any LescoWet.
