As far as I know nothing is really labeled for control of this weed but anyone having any luck with any exotic tank mixes of various products. Sure nothing will really eradicate it but perhaps some good supression.......want to nip it in the bud before it becomes a real problem.

I have sprayed Manor (Metsulfuron) for other broadleaf weeds on Tifdwarf and Champion greens with no ill effect to the turf. It worked very well, but was very slow. I did one application for Virginia buttonweed on a zoysia green at a condominium at half rate expecting to make two applications. It took 3-4 weeks to completely take it out, but I did not make a second app and it never came back.

Buctril @ 16 oz. per acre with Quicksilver @ 1 oz per acre. The only reason for multiple applications is the fact that Buttonweed tends to grow in multiple layers. This will take out anything you see on the top plus some, then you need to come back and treat the next exposed layer.

I will sometimes combine with Monument (for Sedge), as sedge and buttonweed tend to grow together in the same type of wet environment. I have only seen minor buttonweed control with just Monument. Maybe I need to be more aggressive with the sticker.

Manor and Trimec with a surfactant of course. Keep it simple.

David, Carl Johnson has recommended me to use Canoe/Banvil and Diaqua MSA to get rid of my buttonweed. I have not had the chance to do so yet though (money issues)

What are yall using to get rid of Virginia Buttonweed?

I had took the Enhanced weed management class this year which had the following research test done but I wanted to see what actual Golf Courses were having luck with.

Celsius, Tribute total, Lockup with Dicambe, and 4speed XT

Any of these working for you and how many apps did you have to make.

I have Bermuda but the button weed is over 5 years established now. I gotta start somewhere and my club is finally giving me the funds to get rid of it.

I have had great success with Blindside which is a combination of dismiss and manor. One application seemed to do the trick for most of it. The little bit that did return was taken care of with a repeat app.
