Just a quick question, do any of you verticut greens after the first frost of the season?

Here in Southwest Missouri we just have had 2 light frosts a week ago (about our normal time for first frosts), since that time temperatures have been running above average, and will continue to do that for the next 10 days or more with no frosts forecasts for at least the next 15 days, I was thinking about sneaking in another verticutting. We don't go deep, but more than a tickle, (yeah I know not very scientific, I believe we are at .125 below). The last couple of times we have verticut, we have been pulling out a fair amount of material.

And to throw out there, I usually stop my Primo apps, but seeing this forecast and some other comments on the forum, I'm planning on continuing that at least one more time.

    Thoughts on both or either?

    Thanks!

Mel, I would tend to go with how much growth you're still getting. We've had some light frost here in South Dakota, but we're still growing. We did spray Primo last week as well. Thinking of doing the same thing you're thinking about here on Monday. I highly doubt we'll hurt anything up here, so I'd say go ahead, 'tickle' em.

Go for it Mel. Follow with a medium topdressing and a broom. You will be very happy.

Up here I wouldn't but where you are with the growth potential in the next few weeks, I probably would.
