Hello, Considering the Ventrac 4500 to mow green and tee banks, contour deck. Blue/fescue mix in SW Ohio. positive or negative feedback appreciated. If you have experience with other attachments as well, e.g., snow blower, stump grinder, cart path edger. Thanks, Daniel Walter Blue Ash Golf Course

    Dan,
We have the Ventrac 4200VXD gas with the contour deck and it is great. We also have the 72" side discharge deck that we stripe the area from tee to fairway with, and switch out the decks in about 2 minutes, and we are back out mowing around tees, greens, and bunkers. We had a Steiner 430 Max that did great, but we bought the Ventrac and then bought the contour deck and never looked back. We mow some pretty severe slopes with it and we are only running 4 wheels, there is an option for duallies and we have them, but never use them. Ventrac is very fast at getting parts out if you need them. The only downfall to our machine is that it is gas. The contour deck requires a lot of power, our gas unit will run it, but on some hills it slows a bit. Great mower.

    dan,

i bought a ventrac 4500Z this past summer for green and tee banks, it is AWESOME!

i have yet to find a hill it can not tame, with the contour deck, and gas engine it does burn alot of fuel, fill up every 4.5 hours.

this fall i put a mulch kit on the contour deck and it is a necessity, with the rear rollers and rear discharge, you will get clumps unless you mow 3 days a week. this kit eliminated the clumps.

For the price, there is nothing better!

Saw this machine work in Ohio earlier this year, using it to mow down native areas on severe slopes. Never missed a beat. Worth the money.

Demoed a Ventrac this fall when we were really wet. Took it where I shouldn't have but still got through some major stuff with limited damage. Great on slopes and green surrounds...we have some fairly severe areas around greens. Took delivery of one yesterday with the contour mower, blower and tough cut mower

    Dan,
Demoed straight deck, contour deck and reel kit. It performed very well with all attachments. This is the only machine comparable to replacing my national on green and tee banks.

Have yet to find a spot the contour deck can scalp,

We used to weed whack the pond bank in the one picture...now we only whack a 3-4 foot swath around the pond

    Dan,

We have the 4200VXD with dual tires, a contour, tough cut, blower, and reels. We use the contour on steep hills however when it comes to bunker edges, it does not flex enough to get a uniform cut. We love the reels for fairways because if we have an extra guy he can run up and put the reels on after green banks and help finish them. We have learned that these days versatility is invaluable.
The contour has not scalped anything we have and we have tried and tried to scalp with it. If you have any questions feel free to email me or call. I would love to give more of a testimonial to how great this machine is.
