Kyle,
I've done trials on my putting green and chipping green. I backed down to 1oz/acre and shortened the interval to 2 week applications. Did this last fall to just play around and see what the effects were. Definitely yellowed/white the Poa, but also a nice tinge to the bent, this was on A4. Originally I thought the same about doing a cleanup and then filling in, but know of a bad situation where this was done with Xonerate, the overlap stressed the bent bad. And Xonerate wasn't supposed to be as harmful on bent, this was also at 1oz/Acre. The cleanup pass probably has more stressed turf than the center of the green so the bent could be more susceptible and produce a negative response. Have heard too many horror stories lately regarding some of these products so I have stopped. Looks like our putting green may be getting rebuilt here next year so if that's the case I'm going to continue to play this fall with both products and see the differences. Be very cautious though, temperature and moisture levels I believe play a great part in the products activity and how it may affect your bent.
Good Luck,
Justin
