We have one of these rollers and unfortunately it only makes about 10 holes on a good day. We have been told by the distributor and manufacturer that we have the "older" model of the roller and that there is not much they can do to increase the life of the batteries. We have already replaced all batteries with no success and I was curious to see if anyone out there has found a way to extend the charge of the batteries to complete 18 holes without the batteries dying.

    Thanks in advance.

We have two R52-ELT rollers that we got this spring and we can do all 20 greens with no problem. Have you tried a different charger to make sure that it is not "short" charging your unit? That happened on one of our electric vehicles that we have. Changed charger and is working great now.

    Best of luck.

You've seen it go 18 holes in the past? I'm not familiar with those but if the batteries are new I'd check the condition of the cables/connections between the batteries to the motor by doing a live voltage drop test. Also check condition of the drive and smoothing roller bearings. If they are hard to turn that's added drag on the motor.

    Roland,

I have never seen it do 18 holes, at least not on our property. It is a "loaner" between our property and another property. What i was told is that this particular machine is one of the first ones that were built and the charge was not lasting very long with this model, however changes have been made since that have increased the usefulness of the machine.

We will "target role" when we have any time restrictions dues to an early split tee or shotgun start. Probably not the answer ur looking for but will get the roller to all 18 greens. We do almost half the green targeting around the pin.
