I am looking for a new zero turn mower. I have an option to buy a Toro GM7200 demo at a really great price. My question is, how well would this mower do cutting an intermediate cut around fairways at 1.5 inches.

    Thanks,
    Charlie Boldreghini

I use its 60" cousin for areas around my trees and tight areas I can't get bigger mowers into. It cuts like a dream. For intermediates you would need a steady handed operator to keep you lines from getting wavy. Keep the "anti scalp rollers" in good shape, blades sharp and you should be fine.

I have three 7210's and getting two more in May. I love them. They mow circles around any other mower on the market. Speed is great and allows you to travel quickly back out to the starting point the next day. We use them to mow Bahia, and went from two guys on 328's down to one with the 7210's in the same amount of time. Have had no issues other than the normal wear and tear.

As for mowing an intermediate....I would be concerned about the ground contours and scalping. But, I have no doubt it would provide a great cut at 1.5" if scalping was not an issue.

    Andy:

Do you have the Lastec 100 in. decks on your 7210's? Any trouble keeping spindle bearings good? I inherited two of them when I took this job and right now I think the Latec part of the machine is horrible because we are constantly rebuilding spindles. Thanks.

Ummm....no. All Toro. It's one wide 72" deck with 3 spindles.
