Okay, so I have inherited a Toro irrigation system after having a Rainbird system for the last 12 years. My course has all 758 heads, and since Toro no longer produces the 758, i'm wondering from you Toro guys what you're replacing your 758s with when they get destroyed? I've tried the new D-54 heads, and i'm not quite sold on them yet. Just looking for thoughts and input here!

830 series for 1" inlet and 850 series for 1-1/2". The 855 and 835 are fully adjustable from part circle to full circle. Nice feature.

The dt series is ok if you want to save money. I do believe they require smaller diameter opening on top for the internals...

We replace our 750's and 785's with 854's (full circle) and 855's (adjustable from 40 degrees to full circle I think). You'll need the conversion kit which includes a collar that will slide into the can after you've installed the guts since the 800 series is smaller in diameter than 600's and 700's. If you need to replace a part circle and you're putting it into a ribless can, make sure you get the 855 with the sleeve that is intended for ribless cans otherwise the adjustment will last for about 2 seconds. Because of how much smaller the 800 series is than the its predecessors, it will spin out of adjustment.

The 854 is a much more efficient head, especially at lower psi. We just had all three courses audited and that was the recommendation for us. The conversion assemblies fit in the 758 bodies with no need to dig up. The 850 series heads operate as low as 40 psi, so if you are having coverage issues due to pressure, these will be a big help.
