Our sprayer has had a few pump and pressure issues over the past season and now we have one more issue that I need help with. Last season our sprayer computer application rate read 1.00 for 1 gal/1000 and 2.00 for 2 gal/1000 at 40 psi pressure. We sent out aa trusted seasonal worker on the sprayer to spot spray some native weeds and our readings were all off when he finished (I know this was my first mistake) . Now to get the 1 gal/1000 application rate our computer application rate is set at 2.50 and 40 psi. I would like to get the computer to read the 1.00 and 2.00 readings for ease of application rate. Can anyone tell me how to get these readings back? We are set for 'turf' in the type selection on the computer.

    Thanks in advance.

Let me get this straight. To achieve a rate of 1gal/M you have to set it to 2.5gal/M? I can think of a few things it might be. Did you try recalibrating the speed and flow cal in the monitor? They could have been changed accidentally I suppose. Or, the speed sensor, flow sensor, or monitor could be malfunctioning. Also, Make sure your Boom Width didn't change in the monitor as well. That would certainly mess the rate up on the monitor. That's all I got, hopefully it helps.

    Best,

    Robert:

we have re-calibrated the sprayer twice. Making sure to double check all sensors, widths, and speed settings. My first thought was the monitor is malfunctioning but I am still hoping for a inexpensive fix.

You may need to re-calibrate the flow meter. If you clear the total volume, fill the tank with water to the point that is practically overflowing, and self test the spray pro until the tank is completely empty the total volume should read 180 gal. If the number is not close to 180, you can adjust the flow meter calibration accordingly.

I've had this issue on a 1250 that was three years old, in our case the magnets in the flow meter that allow the computer to measure impeller rotation, and hence determine liquid output, had attracted metallic particles from spray materials which weighted the impeller affecting its rotation and causing the monitor to display incorrect values.

In response to my earlier reply, completely filling the tank isn't necessary if you can accurately put ~50 gallons in the tank. Note: the graduations on the tank are useless, you'll have to come up with an accurate way to measure out the water going in the tank - that's why we just filled it to the brim.

Nicholas, do you remember back to when your flowmeter was reading improper rates if it was reading ridiculously high numbers on your application rate screen? Been rebuilding a sprayer here and have everything set to go, except app rate is reading in the 500-560 range (shooting for 88)!! Have set to "US" on programming. Multipro 1250, blue nozzles, 3mph.
Planning on a flowmeter calibration tomorrow.
