We are a 9 hole course, 15' total elevation change, 2100 yds par 30 and 60,000 of 007 bentgrass greens.
We are looking at a 2013 Jacobson Eclipse 322 14 blade mower with 1005 hrs on it.
This is the true electric unit 48 Volt not the small gas motor and generator type.
This unit would only mow the Toro 3100 would verticutting, vibrating, mowing collars and approaches.
I have not seen the unit yet to check reel life etc. but we plan on demo'ing it.
Thoughts about this unit? A friend has 2 of the gas hybrid units and loves them.

Thanks in advance P.S asking price is 12,500.

I have 4 of the diesel hybrid Eclipse 322 units. 2 for tees and approaches, 2 for greens (27 holes)

I love them as they are identical regardless of the operator. The quality of cut is the best I've seen. I haven't seen the latest triflex so take that in to consideration.

If you're going to use them for greens your actual HOC will be about 25% lower than your bench. We set ours at .130" with a groomer and 15 blade reels and the prism shows just under .100". They are also expensive to fix. The computers aren't all that finicky but when they go down they go down hard and it isn't cheap.

If you're using them on higher cut turf like tees and approaches go with 9 blade reels and dump frequently. The grass has a hard time getting in to the baskets for us because we went with 11 blade reels. Good luck.

I demoed the all electric unit. Loved it! Great cut, quiet, heck of a machine.

Only downside we found was the life of charge on the batteries. We would have to run two mowers for the size of our greens and travel time around the course. We opted to not buy them because of this, but if they ever made the charge last longer, I wouldn't hesitate one bit.

$12,500 is a great price for a used unit. They are significantly higher than a typical gas or even diesel machine when new. I would see if you can demo it for a day to make sure the charge lasts.

    Andy:

Did you know that you can also put a gas engine on the same unit as a back up?

The Eclipse 322 is a greatly improved version of the 1st generation units. Having the ability to change clip frequency, monitor speed and to be consistent with operators and like/similar machines makes this machine the state of the art.. I like the 15 blades with groomers .. Sweet cut...
