Does anybody use a tee rotation program at their course? We want to start using one this year at my course and are looking for ideas.

    Thanks,

Jon, What exactly do you mean? On the range tee I would prefer we would be back to front so we could fill divots behind players but we have the guy mowing the tee move the markers so if they are in the back he mows the front and moves the markers there and vise versa if they are in the front. It saves picking up the markers more than once. On the holes we place the tee markers with the pin. Pin in front, tee markers in back and so on. On par threes we have the markers left for right placements and right for left placements.

Jon, I would just move our markers back 3-4 steps every day until I would reach back near the back markers then I would move them up near the forward markers and start over. This was on the one long runway style tees in the 70's. Now I will do something similar but will also go side to side. Can't get my mowers to follow it though.

We go back a couple of paces every day. Since our tees vary in depth, this offers a good variation of front, middle, back tee locations. It also always puts the tee markers out of the previous day's divot debris.

This simple but effective way has worked well for us. We use a simple 9 hole rotation with front, middle, back responsibilities. Red would be front, white middle, and blue is back. It would look like this for group 1 of 3 groups: 1-R, 2-W, 3-B, 4-W, 5-B, 6-R, 7-B, 8-R, 9-W. Group two would move back one position, so red would become white, blue to red, and white to blue. the tees are moved with the cup each day to maintain yardage. so if the cup was red, the tee markers would be on the back third of the teeing surface, away from the fairway. It works well, its up to the cup cutters and the tee service guys to space it out in the daily position. I train my employees to think of each hole as if it was on a string. Especially important on the par 3's for club selection. 150 yds should be 150 yds without some dude getting out his skycaddie to check it out.
