    How often should you replace the probes? We have used the same one's now for the past 2 seasons.

    I was at a seminar last week, they replace whenever they get bent or have worn down a 1/2". Their 3" tines get replaced I think he said every week or couple of weeks? That sounds like a lot but if you saw their program of how they use their meters you could see how they wear that quickly.

    We had the turf rep from Spectrum with us for a chapter event this summer. He said the meter provides the percentage by sending an electrical pulse down and back up the probes and timing it (or something of that sort), so the length is critical to their performance. If they've worn down you need to replace them, and that's why you have to tell the meter what length probe you're using.
