We're about to wrap up our annual Ronstar app. but we've got one fairway that has completely broken dormancy on the south facing half. I've always heard not to SPRAY Ronstar on turf that has already broken dormancy. I was thinking if I water in immediately maybe I would be ok. Never encountered this problem before any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Wes Denmon

I had a similar question for our local expert a couple of weeks ago (though not out of complete dormancy). His response was that we would potentially see something similar to a salt burn that may set you back a couple of weeks, but shouldn't see long term issues. That being said, I have heard of guys smoking turf (though anecdotal). Check with your local university or extension...it may be better to bite the bullet and buy some granular for that fairway.

    Good luck.

Ronstar on green turf is like expensive round up. Serious set back. Typically only used during renovations or completely dormant turf. Green grass would scare me.

Strongly discourage it. Dimension WP is cheap, I'd get a bag of it.

I had to resod about 70% of my bermuda collars last year. I made one lap around the greens with a sprayhawk after it started greening up. I agree with Tony, it was/is expensive roundup.
