I have been battling Spotted Spurge in my Bentgrass greens in Little Rock Ar for the last couple of summers. I've ended up having to apply Glyphosate and reseeding the greens. It germinates as the Bentgrass begins to struggle in early summer and even with aggressive manual pulling, it manages to recover and fully cover the greens. I am reluctant to try Trimec Bent as I am sure the chemical will not be active on Spurge.

Your Pre-emerge crabgrass applications should be controlling spurge. The Andersons KOG product, a granular, spot treatments, should control it as well without spraying the entire green. Never heard of spurge being this big of a problem. Good Luck. Kenneth Ingram, UMD.

Have not used K.O.G. but I have been using Betasan and Oxadiazon at label rates with little effect. Thanks.

I have heard that Spotted Spurge can be an indicator of Nematodes. Just a thought. I have no idea if nematodes can be a problem where you are, but it might be worth testing.

On the lighter side, maybe it's just a matter of increasing your N-P-K a little bit.

Look at a product called quicksilver. A herbicide used for silvery thread moss on Bent, but I've also used it for members of the spurge family. Spendy, but man is it a good product. Spot treat some things and see what happens. I believe the A.I. is carfentrazone-ethyl

Have you tried the Trimec Bentgrass formula?

Sorry Robert, did not see you mentioned the Trimec Bent. Spotted Spurge is on the label. We have had success with it. Have mainly used it in spring and fall though.
