Special Lesson Tee on Driving Range Cancel The title field is required!

   Our golf pro would like us to build a Dedicated lesson tee. Our present driving range grass tee is about 40,000sqft. He has recommended me building a new grass tee adjacent to the driving range tee of about 4,000sqft which seems kind of small to me. He is also talking to some of the schools (John Jacobs, Jim McLean, and David Ledbetter) I am guessing that these type of franchises would require a physical building, anyone with any experience here?

   4,000 sq. ft might not be too bad. We built one about that size and if the regular tee was not busy the pro would use that and only use the lesson tee to get away from others

   Sean, We don't have any schools at our facilities, we do have a top 100 teacher who has his own lesson tee which I think might be right around 4,000 sq. ft. and they also have a physical building. As far as the building I don't know the size of it, but there are about 6 to 7 covered tee stations for winter use, inside is a little counter and office space, then a meeting room with a high enough ceiling to have a hitting cage in it. It has restrooms down at one end. If you don't hear from others I can try to get sizes from that building as well.

   Good morning Sean:
   
   We have hosted a number of private lesson groups here from David Leadbetter to smaller local folks. I can tell you that they will use all of the 4,000 square feet that you give them along with an office and area to evaluate swing inside if the weather is not conducive to being out in the elements. The Leadbetter group was great to work with but did require a little TLC on our part to keep the hitting area clean and regrassed along with a spot to set up a small tent and a few Adirondack chairs, O don't forget a power source to run all of the electronics. The key was to manage the expectation up front well before anyone got rolling. Some can tend to "want the moon" and can expect you to provide it.
