Slick Bridges Cancel The title field is required!

   I am wondering what coatings or mats are being used for walkers on wooden bridges. I have around 2500 feet of bridges and they can get slick in the morning or after a rain. I am looking for any ideas.

   We too have wooden bridges at our GC. There is some paint that you can get at Lowes or The Home Depot that has a gritty material in it for steps that seems to work pretty good. You have much more to cover so you might get by with just putting a strip down the middle for them to walk on.

   we have the same issue, we use Sherwin Williams deckscapes paint and cover with sand while still wet and blow off excess sand once paint has dried. I just put a strip down on the side of the bridge because most groups have carts also so the walkers end up walking on the side anyway.

   http://www.pemsurface.com/ Cost is more than non-skid paint, but it will last for a long time. With what we were paying labor to continually repaint, I would say the PEM has paid for itself.

   I agree with Patrick, we were using the paint with some grit or texture mixed in and on the downslope of the bridge golfers were still wiping out in the morning and I was getting my rear end chewed out. We went to PEM and it's gotten rave reviews from the walkers.
