We are very clean this year as far as poa. That being said, there are a few plants in the fairway and rough. Has anyone spot sprayed Simazine with a small tank (25gallon)? I don't want to look like a Dalmatian in the spring. I also have some poa in my collars. We have Bermuda collars and greens, not overseeded. We have poa resistant to sulfanylureas. I was considering using Simazine on the collars by either hand spraying or just using the center boom on the big tank. My other option is kerb, but kerb can be tough on the Bermuda. Any thoughts?

I would say the safer bet would be to use Exonerate. You have resistance to Revolver if I am correctly understanding your question? Simazine in my experience is somewhat toxic on Bermuda that is not completely dormant and acts more as a pre than post emergent. Also one must be careful around bodies of water or places that drain into your lakes.

In the past I've used simazine at label rates to control Poa on semi-dormant bermuda with goood results, 90%+ control both pre and post. Do be careful near water.

I have had good results on fairways and rough when spraying with a boom sprayer. I am hesitant on shorter grass. Yes , we are resistant to revolver and all other sulfanylureas. I will look into exonerate. I hear that it is expensive. I was curious about hand spraying Simazine because I have a few areas that are just not densely populated with poa enough to justify a blanket application.

I've spot sprayed Simazine before at 2 qt/A rate and killed poa, if you overdo it you'll see some damage, but a quick shot will kill the poa and the Bermuda will be fine

has anyone had luck cleaning up poa around bentgrass greens with bermudagrass collars? Does it move? does turf have to be dormant?

Simazine is very mobile do not use it on any upsides of Bentgrass as rains will cause movement of the product spilling it into bent. We used to use Roundup on dormant bermuda and shield it off of green when spraying then allow to dry so as to not track it

Its getting late in the season now, but we used Finale on bermudagrass surrounds with bent grass greens. Setback for a couple of weeks, but it is already coming back. I used lower rate and lower volume and still got a decent kill on the Poa.
