I was wondering what people might be using to clean, sweep, vacuum, sidewalks. We have recently tripled our resort sidewalks and outside gathering venues. I was hoping for some personal recommendations on equipment for this purpose. I have googled the topic and found lots of equipment for sale.

We have used Zerotol to kill algae on wooden steps. We sprayed them at the same rate and at the same time as we were spraying greens. It is labeled for pourous and non-pourous sufaces.

Our city uses Trackless MT articulated machines http://www.tracklessvehicles.com. These machines are multipurpose vehicles that can use many different attachments. The city uses them as sidewalk plows in the winter and occasionally have to put snow blowers on them to clear the sidewalks after heavy snow falls. I have also used them on our golf courses during those winters where it has been necessary to remove the snow from the greens to get at the ice underneath.

    Sean,

We have miles of sidewalks and multipurpose paths. We have found the best method is someone with a backpack blower walking the paths every couple of days. This not only clears and cleans the path of debris, but also allows the person to spot areas that may be raised up or in need of repair before someone trips. Due to this, we have a crew dedicated to this task and can walk every path twice a week working only Monday - Friday.

I have a guy come and pressure wash my driveway and sidewalk and my home once a year and he uses something like this http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200314623_200314623

Does a great job and much faster than using a wand.
