Looking for some insight on removing rye from collars next to bentgrass greens. Collars are a mix of zoysia and bermudagrass. Looking to keep rye past dormancy break. Need a post emergent option that will not move or just a cultural option like verti-cutting.

Good Luck! We have been trying to do this for the past 5 years on our bermudagrass collars. Metsulfuron (Manor, MSM) seems to work best for us. It does move, but does not seem the harm the bent as much as other products. Unfortunately it does not control poa. Probably best to treat a small area and see how comfortable you are with it before doing the rest. Roundup works on poa, but doesn't do much for ryegrass in our experience. Revolver works in hot weather and seems not to move as much as the others SU herbicides (we only use it spot treating with backpacks).

Let us know if you find something that works!

We fight the problem as well all the time on our zoysia collars. We try some Round up early and Revolver later (past season we fell behind in all of that) but be careful of tracking with Revolver, make sure to irrigate as suggested. We applied some in spots in the fall of 2014 and tracked some on a green. Didn't really damage much, but we had to look at it all winter.

I tried attaching a picture, but couldn't get it to upload. I will investigate it some more and try that later.

I've tried to copy and paste the picture of the Revolver we tracked onto our green, but with no luck. I have attached it as a word document.
