Hi everyone, just wondering what height of cut you are using for your rough and green and tee banks. I'm at 2 inches on the rough and 2.5 on greens and tee banks. We are a public golf course. Two inches on the rough lately seems a little to short , 2.5 inches for everything seems to work pretty good but some people think the rough is like US Open rough. I like the higher cut, the grass seems to handle the heat so much better.

We are at 3" on a public course and would love to go down to 2.5" but we are mowing everything with our large area rough mower and at 2.5" we start scalping on banks.

If and when we get a new bank mower, I would like to mow at 1.5" so it allows the golfer a variety of shot choices. Plus a majority of our golfers are seniors and beginners, which would favor them some. At a course where we mowed like this before, we would mow green banks at least twice a week and sometime 3 during the spring flush, I wonder if you upped your frequency of bank mowing the 2.5" wouldn't be so bad?

Mowing our rough, green surrounds and around tee boxes at 1.5" all year round on a public golf course. Would prefer mowing at 1.75 ", but the rough gets thick and slows play down.

We are a private club. We mow our rough at 2.5 inches and the green and tee banks at 1.5 inches.

The course here is roughs and surronds 1.5" fwy 5/8" tees 1/2" and greens .15"
Small budget and do not have the mowers to cut lots of cuts so we KISS works great.

At that height, I guess there can't be much grass on the greens to mow.

Private club 3.25" everywhere - surrounds depends on contours and equipment. Currently cut all banks with 5 22" rotaries ... Ventrac with contour deck on order...

Public play 1.5 maximum. Anything more slows play and reduces $$$$. Private club give them what they want.

Perimeter cut and green bank 1.5" with 5-plex rotary, main rough 2.5"

At 2.5" we do not get any complaints but when we cannot keep up we get the US Open rough comments although after this year it no longer means the same thing!
