I have a lot of undulations on my greens and I have looking for a light weight roller. I have two salsco rollers for aerification. I am looking at true surface vibratory rollers. I need something easy to operate and get around quicker. Does anybody use these triplex rollers.

We use them as well, along with Smithco for heavy apps, and are great for quick rolls when needed.

I have used them for many years, even have an old triplex just for them. Going one direction is ok for just maintaining speed and smoothing a bit, but going two directions will actually increase your green speed and give you a great ball roll. Also use it for working in topdressing after dragging. Does a great job.

    Trevor,

I had them for several years and was very happy with them. We had two older triplexes dedicated for rollers, worked

We have had the vibratory rollers for over ten years and love them. It is all we use. The first job new employees are taught is mowing greens. Once they can do that they can also roll.

For the vibratory roller users. Are you getting more than a season from the bearings? Do you have a source for the bearings that is cheaper than using manufacturer? Knocking the dust off of ours and rebuilding. Thanks.

I can usually get two years out of the bearings.

We use the Tri-plex rollers in two directions over and around the cup (usually 7 passes each way), this increases green speed and ball roll as the ball is slowing down (where you need it the most). One person can roll 18 greens in about 1.5 hours, which is a huge benfit and saving on time.

David, We have the original True Surface vibratory rollers and have had no bearing problems. I think we have changed them once in ten years. The rubber grommets on the other hand wear out after a year or two.
