Typhoon Roke, 21 September 2011, 100MPH with gusts to 120MPH about 6" rain, made land fall Zama Golf at 3pm to 7pm and then all clear.
All in all we were lucky may take a few weeks to clean up, lost 70+ trees and a lot of limbs, One truck in my maintenance yard totaled. Next morning all staff came in at 5AM and we had greens, tees and cart paths open by 7:30am. And we opened it was a Japanese Holiday and the tee sheet was full. Roughs are a mess but we have it all pushed off the fairways and today we are mowing. Must say I have a great staff and they are really moving these few days.
Tried to load a file photo or two but Web will not let me. net is not up to par yet maybe later.

Glad to hear that no one was seriously injured. I am amazed at how our staff pulls together as well when situations like this occur. Good luck.

Keith, I am glad you are OK. I know it's tough when you have no power at home or in some cases, a tree in your living room and still you go in to work and do cleanup there. I never ceases to amaze me the dedication of some people! If you can say anything positive about storms is that it seems to bring the best out in people and no electricity makes it easier to get to know you neighbors. Stay safe!
