    Hello all,
Seeking info of anyone who may have tried Pylex in a hand spray bottle for spot applications, whether it be greens, collars, etc. Seeking information on rate,/ amount used in spray bottle.

Yeah. Hard to mix up a small batch when the rate is so low. Even with the syringe provided. When you have a large batch mixed up (160 gal tank) just fill a small (2gal) hand can (compressed air sprayer) from the big tank. I put the same nozzle on the wand that was on the boom. Spot sprayed plots with no problem.

We use pipettes to measure at the research farm for 2 liter bottles (like soda pop bottles). Probably would not be a bad investment. Maybe check some science supply catalogs online like Carolina Biological Supply.

My course has had common bermuda mixed in on bentgrass greens long before I arrived two years ago. I decided to try broadcasting Pylex at .125 oz/A(about 4ml) for 3 applications separated by about 3 weeks in August and September. The last App being a week before aerification. It worked phenomenally... No damage or discoloration to the bent and it took out about 95% of the bermuda. I honestly couldn't believe how well it worked. That being said, I have hardley any Poa in my greens(strange right?) so I'm not sure how it would affect it there. Also, I used MSO with it at 44 oz/A and discontinued any PGRs for the duration. My course is in southeastern NM so we have a similar climate to Tucson and west Texas. I'm actually a bit more reluctant to try spot spraying it on my greens thus far. Hope this helps though!

    Jordan,

at those rates, don't be surprised if it returns next year. Difficult to get high enough rate on Bermuda without seriously damaging Bent. At those rates, I would suspect suppression and not control. I've been fooled before. Most likely you'll need to use a combination of products throughout the year and annually.

    Keith,

I'm with ya. Just came off a few of my greens and it looks more like 60% of it is gone(roots included) with about 40% suppressed and battling some new Flagstick seedlings. I'm still very pleased with the results both aesthetically and in improved playability. That being said, looks like it's back to the drawing board for next season. :D I'm thinking Weed Wand, maybe?
