I am considering upgrading my existing nozzles in my Toro 730ies and have a question for those who have already done it. Have you noticed an actual REDUCTION of water used? I understand the nozzles resist wear, have uniform pattern etc., but I can't find any numbers regarding actual GPM output of these nozzles. In other words, does the
    # 34 blue Profile put out the same GPM as the blue # 34 Toro? I like the idea of the uniform coverage, but if I am also putting out more water, it's not going to accomplish what I want due to an overburdened block system.

I think the nozzles put out the same gpm as the original nozzles. That is at least the case with the 51dr's. The savings in water comes from a more even distribution pattern and therefor you are not having to apply more water to adequately irrigate the area of the profile receiving the lowest amount of irrigation.

    Jeff,

We replaced all of our 730's with the Profile nozzles last year after testing them on 2 fairways for a couple months.

Looking at our numbers we saw a 15% - 25% reduction in water with no visual differences throughout the turf.

The profile nozzles are the same GPM (or very closely similar) of the manufacturer's nozzles. The difference, as Ron stated, is the distribution uniformity is substantially better than our original 730 nozzles.

In my years around the business it has been by far the 'best bang for the buck' so to speak in improving irrigation.

Try them on a fairway or two - you won't be disappointed...
