A-4 Bentgrass greens, transition zone. I am curious on rates people are using with primo applications on bentgrass. I started the spring at 3oz acre weekly, then went to 4 oz acre weekly. I plan to go to 5 oz acre weekly tomorrow.

On 98% T-1 Bent I have used 5.5oz A for years never had a problem I only use at most 3 to 4 times a year spring and fall only.
I use the same rate on Zoysia Fairways and tees.

5.5 oz every two weeks - all season. No issues.

Use the GDD calander developed in Wisconsin
heat breaks down primo as the days warm up your effective rate longevity is reduced. Not that keeping the data in the chart is difficult I rarely found that my effective length of control varied more than one or two days. In short it is easier to keep the spray schedule and add primo on a weekly basis. I'm at 6oz/acre once a week from May first thru late September on A1-A4
Wish I could afford to spray fairways

I agree with Steve, I use the 200 GDD tracker and have no issues. 6 oz. per acre whenever my chart says to apply.

L-93/Crenshaw greens in transition zone...I typically start around 3 oz to the acre after transitioning from Trimmit in the offseason for Poa seed head suppression. I will get as high as 6 oz/A every two weeks, but keep it around 5 if we are under stress. I have gone at 5 oz rate weekly for tourney prep and had good results, but for general maintenance rates, I use the two week intervals. Always with a supplement for color.

I was told the other day that Primo would discolor Zoysia. At the 5.5oz do you have any discoloration? How often do you mow fairways and tees?

    Thanks,
    Virgil

I have never seen any discolor in areas done, My zoysia is a local broad blade zoysia and not a fine blade. The stuff is very tough.

Same as Steve and Mel here. We use the GDD around 150-200 on bent/poa greens. Only difference here is we have switched our pgr apps to Legacy @ 3-5oz/A on greens. With etiolation issues and some research showing the amount of N and primo applied seem to play a factor we have made the switch. Haven't seen any etiolation issues since.
