    Hello,

I was wondering if any fellow industry members from down south would be able to shed some light on the going price of grass seed. Specifically seed used on the putting surface itself.

    Thanks!
    Have a great day!

The only grass seed I use "down south" is cool season grass seed.....Perennial Rye(tees, collars, fairways) and Poa Tivialis(greens) for winter overseed. Some guys may use seeded varieties of Bermuda, but not on greens. Greens varieties of Bermuda (TifEagle, Mini Verde, Champion, etc...) are propagated vegetatively, ie; sod/sprigs. I wish I could just throw out some Champion seed.

What type of grass? I know of Sea Spray Paspalum and Riviera bermuda...never seen either on a putting green though. Dunno how proven they are on those types of surfaces. Ive had sea spray in fwys/roughs before but always lost color faster than our sprigged supreme paspalum.
