I am looking at using Plant growth regulators around trees and pond banks to help with time weed eating each week. Has anybody had any good experiences or bad experiences they would like to share? Rates? Length of control?

Located in Minnesota. Applying to mostly non irrigated blue grass. I will be using a 15 gallon spot sprayer for the apps.

Many years ago I was the spray tec. and one of the assistants at a course where I sprayed Primo/Prox on the creeks and lake edges'. I use label rates but had to calibrate using a hand wand at lease three times a year. I used a 15 gallon sprayer and added a forty feet hose. The only problem was I had to learn to walk backwards and spray plus not fall in at the same time. The hose would let spray 80 feet at a time, later I went to a 50 foot hose. Use can not spray in or over water, but you can come very close to the edge. We only weed whacked the lake two to three times a years, but I sprayed nearly monthly. I could do all the lakes and creeks in lest then a day. As for tree's we used round-up and a preemergence for the weeds under the trees, about three times a year, sometime more, Start early
    I hope that this helps'.
