I would be interested in hearing about over-seeding on greens I have L93 greens that have been over-seeded with a number of new seed types in the G and A for the most part. Is this a good idea? Myself I was always taught that keeping a few good grasses (bent) growing together would help in stress times. A green that is hit by a fungus might have some damage of one or two types but still recover with the grass types that were not affected.
    Thanks,
    Keith

My thought is that the L93, G, and A-series all need to be managed differently, so how do you find a "happy medium" between all of the grasses? I would rather have a monostand that I can cater my maintenance program around.

I agree with both sides. That's what makes our job so difficult. There is no clear cut answer on so many different things. They blended A1with A4 because one was more heat tolerant and one was more cold tolerant so over time no matter your climate the better suited grass would win. That being said, I wouldn't want l-93 mixed in with either because it's management style is so different like Patrick pointed out. I think that if your goal is to change to a denser variety over time there is some merit to interseeding, but besides that I haven't seen a great enough germination rate to justify the cost. Over time it will all mutate any way, so why bother.

Thanks, It does give me a item to think about, I may look at my mixes better. Because the greens were seeded new with a blend of L-93 and Gs, I can't hurt to much.
