I new to the Lynx Osmac program. Some days when I check Course report in the morning it will show com failure to one or two stations. Never the same ones. Just random. What causes a com failure?

Larry, to my understanding these are stations that didn't irrigate. When osmac is sending out multiple pages to the controllers through the watering cycle it will sometimes have a communication failure. As a result, it will be random in nature and not consistently the same stations. I hope this helps.

Larry, Where do you find this report? I have Sitepro computer from last year with Windows 7 and no Lynx. I was looking thru reports for the last hour and find nothing for individual stations.

The only time I see communication failure is when I do a manual download or I see Sitepro sending its daily download.

We have a few of our 24 sats in stand alone because of faulty faceplates and one with fiber optic cut by some earth moving machine or other. They are in areas that are not so important. My foreman thinks that Sitepro makes many mistakes and if I could see each morning stations that didn´t run because of communication failure it would be very helpful.

The foreman is becoming a believer in Sitepro after I rewrote all the software this winter and spring. It now irrigates where and when I tell it to with about 30 programs and 14 start times. I am getting better coverage than ever with fewer minutes by matching demand around the course with the capacities of our 4 pump houses.

    Thanks Michael

The stations it said were not irrigated, were definitely not irrigated, so it appears to be correct. I just wondered if this is something I am doing wrong or the program is failing to send out signals. My old Osmac 4.7 never gave that information but I never noticed that certain stations didn't water.
    Thanks Guys

    Hi Larry,

I checked with irrigation chief from Toro España this morning while I was getting some parts to repair Toro 4500 and Club Car Carryall. He said that the Lynx has ability to tell you the stations that did not get their signal correctly and that Sitepro does not have the ability to distinguish individual stations.

He also said that Osmac is not compatible with European frequencies for radio communication.

    Saludos Mike

I guess I'm lucky not to be living in Europe

I'm still on SitePro. When this happens its related to pipe size and the inability to run those stations "in the middle of the program". I have done a couple things to combat this occurring; change the pipe size to the area, or have these stations run on their own at the beginning/end of the cycle.

    Cheers Red

    LARRY:
I had the same issue. The problem was multi faceted. We had our Toro dealer check our signal and replaced some field antennas and our regular antenna. The problem persisted until Toro installed a new RIU to replace the Base Station. Check into it. It has been flawless since the RIU has been installed.
