Going to pull the trigger on new mowers. We have demo'ed The Jac. Eclipse 322gw/15 blades, and the Toro Triflex.

The mechanic and Asst. are very impressed with the Eclipse. They like the improvements on the Triflex to but it lacks the innovation of the Eclipse. We presently have Toro and John Deere triplex's. Price is about the same for both, and both are solid distributors but I give Toro a little advantage there.

Any experience negative or positive would be appreciated. If you prefer you can email me your response at sean.hoolehan@wildhorseresort.com

I tried the triflex and really liked it. I didn't like the fact that nothing was backward compatible. As for the others I haven't tried them at all

Six 7-13 year old Toro 3100's. Gonna buy a 3 year old off lease 3100 soon. I don't have $30,000 each for green mowers I sold for $12,500.

Are the Eclipse all electronic? If thats the case then I would go with that. The worry of having hydraulic leaks will always be there if not.

Also the Toro Triflex when we had the demo our guys kept hitting the off switch of the blades with their winter gloves. Just a little extra thought.

We have some electric reels on our JD Hybrids triplex and they have had a leak or two. We also are looking into buying the Elcipse.

    Good Luck.

If by "a little advantage" you mean "it could be the difference in one or three days getting a part", my mind would already be made up.

We purchased a Jacobsen hybrid Eclipse 3 years ago and love it. Easy to operate, easy to maintain, easy to trouble shoot and the FOC adjustment coupled with the 15 blade reels provide a glass surface.
We save around 1.5-2 gallons everytime we mow as compared to a Jacobsen GK6. It saves only about 0.3-0.5 gallons when compared to a Toro 3150-Q.
We demoed the new Toro triflex and it was very good also but it lacks the FOC adjustments and still had some hydraulics.

We bought a couple of the Eclipse hybrid units about 6 months ago for 2 main reasons. Zero hydraulics, and with the 15 blade reel the quality of cut was fantastic. Since the purchase we have noticed other benefits - reduced fuel usage, faster transport and mowing speeds over previous units while maintaining high cilp rate, much quieter due to smaller engine as well as the lack of the whine of the hydraulic pump.

We have been very happy with them so far

We have two Toro triflex greens mowers and love them so far. We are on our second season with them and have had no problems with them. We have some severe slopes in our greens and these machines follow them flawlessly. For having no grease fittings all the bearings are holding up well so far. I would recommend these machines, they have been good to us so far.

We had 2 Eclipse 322 at the last course i worked at. Great mowers. Very easy to work on. We did have a few minor problems with one of them but were a non issue to us and covered by warranty. We demo the john deere hybrids and were a very good mower too. Very user friendly on both models. We had a full electric Eclipse 322 loaned to us while ours was being repaiered and was very impressed with the power and no problems with it losing power as we used it and it is charged by a 110v 12 gauge plain ol' extention cord. No special chargers involved.
