Sodded a new practice green last wednesday. I have seeded and grown in a couple of greens before but never sodded a green. There is good rooting in most of the sod after 1 week. What's next?

    When should I start rolling?
When should I cut?(tempted to cut now as it is getting very long)
    What height should I cut?

    Any other advice.

    Thank you

    Brad,

I have sodded a 14,000 sq ft research green with Annual Bluegrass. I would suggest lots and lots of sand and poking lots of holes. I was rolling our green almost daily for a few weeks immediately after sodding before we mowed for the first time. Depending on the mowing height of the sod before you put it down and your desired mowing height use the topdressing to help with getting your height to where you want it. Start high with the height and take it down slowly. Once its scalped its scalped.....

    Good luck....

Aerate and top dress twice per month or more often with small tines. This breaks the interface and allows the roots to penetrate. Mow as soon as a week or two. I would start at .250 and work down weekly or even twice per week. Visually inspect twice per day as sod can go south fast.
