    Those of you that are maintaining ultradwarf bermudagrass. Which mower type suits better for your greens? Flex unit or rigid? advantages or disadvantages?

    Seems to be a lot more Superintendents using flex heads, but there are still some out there using a fixed head. Probably depends on the contouring of the putting greens.

    It all depends on your greens. We mow TifEagle on a daily basis with a run of the mill Toro 3150 TriPlex. I have no issues getting this machine to cut the same as a walker and have had them as low as .100" before no problem. If you have undulating greens, a flex head will prevent scalping and digging in as you go over the undulations, but will cut exactly the same as a regular reel.
