I worked on a course that had a good amount of moss on the greens and we sprayed Quicksilver at label rate every two weeks. The moss would turn off-color for about a week and then look green and healthy right before we sprayed again. After much research I had a conversation with one of my instructors at Penn State why this program was not working on the moss even after there was so much talk about how Quicksilver was effective on moss. The simple truth was that if you don't get rid of the conditions on the greens that promote the moss the battle will never be won no matter what quicksilver program you use. Greater air exchange and drainage in the top 4" of the profile the greater chances are that the moss will disappear, even without the use of Quicksilver. We changed our topdressing sand, altered the aeration program a little, stretched our watering days, and punched the greens with a solid cross tine in the spring. These changes helped us win the moss battle and eventually we stopped using Quicksilver all together. The moss struggled to the point that the turf was able to out compete it. I hope that helps.
