Mixing green divot sand Cancel The title field is required!

   This year we are planning on going back to mixing green divot sand. I plan to buy a cement mixer to help us. What are your sand to dye ratios? Do you add profile to your mix? If profile is added are you doing it before the dying process or after? Are you mixing a whole bunch and storing it inside? Please share with me your secrets to well mixed but dry divot mix. Thanks in advance.

   I bought a cement mixer too but we added a removable screen to the opening and now we use our composted plugs from aeration and screen the sand into small piles then move the screened material to a covered storage and throw the organic waste in the trash. This created a darker sand that we use for divot repair on tees, fairways and driving range tee. The members love the recycled material!

   Just play around with the mixing until you find a ratio you like. Everyone seems to have a different preference as to how much color they want.

   We use Replace Divot Sand Dye from Precision. 6-8 oz per 10-12 shovel fulls of sand in mixer works pretty good for our needs.
