It looks to me that they may have had some cold weather. Here is Tom Vlach, the superintendent interviewing a caddie. Tom is a great guy and like his predecessor managed Pine Tree GC here in Boynton Beach, FL. (David and others: it is a video, so do not watch.)

You blew it for me. Now David is going to have to watch and complain. And someone on here calls ME a whiner!

No cold weather. They are lean, mean and full of speed and exactly where you want them for a major championship. Course looks fantastic!

Extra Primo and low soil moisture might not look good, but the greens are putting great.

Mini Verde is great. I love mine. The TV probably doesn't do them justice especially with the rest of the course so green.

I think the color is due to two things:

    1. Everything else is strikingly green. In contrast the camera and your eye will see the greens more off color than they really are.

    2. Three primo apps in 7 days will keep you grass locked down without a problem. It will also give the an orange tint from a distance. Up close I'm sure they looked just fine. (insider knowlege from a "spy" on the Primo. I don't know the rates but would be curious).

At the end of the day, they rolled great. If they were really worried about color, they could have fixed that fairly easily. Great job TPC Agronomy Staff!
