Good day and all the best for 2016. I am currently faced with a hydraulic oil spill on one green. We treated it immediately with soap and copious amounts of water. Any input would be welcomed at this stage.

Without stripping sod and replacing it the best routine i have found has been to aerify 5/8 tines 1 inch spacing. Mix milorganite and dry topdressing sand 50-50 and work it into the holes. Damaged area should be gone in a month or so depending on the width of the damage and growing conditions.

Yea I had a major spill last year when my top dresser blew a hose. Ended up with 4 lines the whole length of the green. After washing I waited a few days and then started mixing up a brew of ammonia sulfate and micros and hand sprayed it every 5 days. It heald over in about 6-8 weeks.

I elected to use this route because of the amount of area affected. Stripping out an area to sod is great unless you have more area then spar sod. Also with Bermuda it's hard to make it blend in.
