Just wondering what everyone is using to put together a maintenance calendar for your operations? I just spent the morning putting one on Google Calendars and now I'm not really impressed with it. I tried to send it to my director and assistant and its not working for them thus my main reason for needing to change to another calendar form

You might try changing your calendar settings. There is a sharing setting. You can list the email addresses you want to share the calendar with.

I've always used Outlook, created a separate Golf Maintenance calendar and shared it with other departments. We're all networked together which makes it easier to share. Even with that I still put all our closure dates on a Word Doc to share with the committees and post on our website.

If you're not opposed to using excel go to http://www.vertex42.com for some really nice calendar templates as well as a bunch of other free templates.

I have to wonder if you just do not have your settings correct in your google calendar. I have been using them for years with no issues but it took me a while to learn how to properly use them and add more to it.

Google calendar has the ability to show many calendars on one set page or just one of the many you may have. I have set up google calendars for each department and we only have certain ones that we have set for our members to view. Take a look at mine at the bottom of my blog page. this one is set for just my department only but forward through the calendar to March or April and you will see how much you can display. On the days we are spraying greens you can click on the event and it will open a small window that will show exactly what we are supposed to be spraying. While I can add more calendars for others to view with mine I do not want to overcrowd my maintenance calendar.

Just ask if you need any help setting yours up. You can have multiple calendars with little issues once you figure out how to work with them.
