A couple of years ago I did a new maintenance compound, I started with a list of all the equipment we had and what there foot print in the shed would be for parking, I then factored in as best I could what we might add to the fleet in the future (leaf Vac, extra transport buggies etc). I then basically sketched out where everything would go when it was parked. I added the staff canteen, toilets, showers and office to one end of the building. On the other end I put in the space for the mechainc(lift, grinders, store room for parts etc). Outside of this I added the fuel and chemical stores with the washpad. The shed flows well as the mechanic has plenty of space and all machines have to drive past his area as they come back in. Everything has it own spot and the transport buggies which are generally first out and last in take up the center passage of the shed. We are an 18 hole private course with up to 9 staff. The shed measures 40 foot by 135 aprox. The only equipment left outside are the tractor trailers (which are stored in the covered sand bay during the winter months)
