There was an article about this in one of the publications about six months ago. It listed three differnt methods to remove this "hump." If I remember correctly, if you have a lip of over one inch, the recommendation was to remove the sod and regrade. Under that, core aerify with the largest tines you have on the tightest spacing you can followed by flooding it with water and rolling with the heaviest roller you've got to smash it down. I've done both methods here on my bermuda and prefer the aerification/water/roller method.
