I have a bumper crop of kyllinga in my collars that I have to get rid of. The collars consist of bermuda, bent, rye and poa. I know, what a great mix huh? I want to kill off the kyllinga and seed with rye. I can't simply spray Roundup and start over as my membership would not be happy with that. What can I spray to rid the kyllinga and be able to seed the rye in early September? I was thinking Prosedge 2 apps 3 weeks apart. But I have to start now as there is a 2 week recommended delay in seeding after application.

That's probably your best bet, but it will probably still come back in the future. Halosulfuron will not injure desirable turf even at a 3x rate. I experimented with it in a bentgrass collar at a 3x rate and there was no injury to the bent, but much better control of sedge/kyllinga. Good luck!

I am in Connecticut, so I cannot speak to the safety on Bermuda, but I use Dismiss for Kylinga on Bent/Poa. Will look like you sprayed with Roundup for a couple of weeks. May have to spray it twice and will definitely have to watch for it in coming years. In looking at the label, it does say Bermuda is tolerant.

Maybe Sedgehammer (or old Manage if you have it). I have used on bent with no issues. I will take repeat applications to really get rid of it.
