Has anyone had issues with keeping the golf cups clean from turf colorant or everyday painting?

Just happened to have one at the shop. It fits perfect. Just duck tape over the openings.

Toro 4 inch valve covers, like you would use for a quick coupler, work perfect.

We use a dye when spraying and pull the flag and use and old towel in the cup, works great. Once every week we change all cups and clean and or paint and switch back the next week.

I use old Toro 700 series irrigation head caps accumulated from when we replace with 800 series heads on course. Drill a hole through the cap and insert a looped piece of rope through the hole for easy removal. Slide a washer over top of the loop to keep snug. You can hang one on the spray rig. Of course you'll need to make several for the practice facility.

I use cup covers from Par Aid or Standard, they are like $4 and worth it!

Use the aerification foam inserts. We cut a couple in half and put them in whenever we topdress and drag our greens. No reason they will not work while spraying also. Light ,very cheap and do not make any noise when transporting around the course (like something metal may do). My guys just throw them in the basket of the greensmower, which we use to drag our greens with.

I don't bother. I like the blue polka dot look and so do my golfers.

    I'm with Ron on that.

Although question, we do use the liners in the Par Aide cups, we have found for us anyway, changing them out at the start of the season and once during the season works for our clientle, (heck they might not even notice), and looks so much better then when the paint starts chipping.

My question is for those that use them, do you have trouble with the cup sticking to the cup setter sometimes after you have changed the liner? And what might you contribute that to? I know we have sticking problems, we try to make sure the edge is clean, but wonder if we haven't got the liner down all the way to the base of the cup? It looks like it is, but just wonder.

    Thanks!

I sell these golf cup guards anyone wants them. 617 775 7651, or you can email me at sales@cup-saver.com. They are great. They work for all applications, topdressing, painting and spraying. They even fit in the cup holder! I tried using the toro valve covers but this worked better. It fits in the hole rather a top of it. I also use it for efficiency purposes when painting then hole. It is fast! It works for spraying too.

    Sneaky.....

Who would by that junk and pay shipping when you can get something functional at the local hardware store?

    Mel,

We use the cup setters from Miltona that are made for cups that are painted. They do not stick to the edges of the cups while setting.

Same here...we just use a couple of shop rags in the hole. Keep it simple.
