My cup edges do not seem to be holding up. Any suggestions or remedies? The cup cutter is sharp and the cup setter is cleaned after every hole. By 10 am the edges look like the hole has been there a couple of days.

    Thanks!

    Jason,

How new is the cup cutter shell? We had year old cup cutter shells on our cup cutters, they would get sharpened regularly, they were sharp, but I didn't think the edges looked crisp enough, we installed new shells and they improved immediately.

Not sure if it would react differently to cool-season grass but we have used have used hairspray to hold our edges for tournaments when we paint cups. I would think it would hold them fairly well without the paint.

What brand or name hairspray are y'all using?

Must be alcohol free. Aqua Net makes one. We use it in season when we paint cups. Holds up well.

Cup cut too deep? More than likely you have the Cup Diggers that are way too lazy to bend over.

    Thank you for the responses...

Mel you were right on the money with my situation. New shells and now all is good. :D

New shell. When that shell gets tiny micro cracks on the outside, it creates friction and that is what compromises the integrity of the edge.
