I collect clippings on greens, tees and fairways. For years, I just scattered the clippings in the roughs and attempted to disperse the 'dumps' with proforce blowers. It worked, but during heavy growth periods, the amount of clippings removed from fairways was sustantial and the dumping areas thinned due to the amount of clippings. Last season I purchased small trailers to collect the clippings and haul to our dump site. The overall course presentation improved. However, now I have a decomposing clipping issue. (Manure smell) I am evaluating all options for dealing with future clipping disposal. Options include:

Weekly dumpster, annual haul of stock pile, etc.

Wondering if anyone is still utilizing Millcreek spreaders or similar style manure spreader to disperse clippings in out of the way rough areas (ie range)? If so, what is your procedure? Any turf concerns from repeated dispersal in relatively the same areas? Tips or recommendations?

We're removing a considerable amount of clippings and do know if its possible to compost this material. However, I'm open to recommendations from those that might be composting similar clipping amounts (~10-15 yards/mow??)

Or if you utilize your local trash company and a roll off container, how frequently are you having to swap out containers.

Thank in advance for any suggestions, tips and recommendations
