   Has anyone completely stopped applying granular nitrogen to there bermuda. I apply granular organics when I aerify @ 3/4#n/m of roots 15-0-8 and Ocean organics 12-0-12 @ 3/4#n/m. I apply these in May after 1/2 tine with inch and half spacing at a 4 inch depth. Then apply again, same rate, in July when I aerify with 1/2 in tine, inch and half spacing 5 inch depth. By the time I get to the July aerification my thatch has built up enough to scalp some of the push up greens. I was considering completely stopping granular N for next season. Does anyone have any of the same issues and what approach did you take. Note: I am only aloud to aerify twice per/yr on acre in a half of tifdwarf greens with a lot of play. I do V-cut when we can. I only have a 3 man staff full time and one volunteer on M, W, F. Any input would be helpful.

   Look into Primo applications and topdressing, and focus on liquid and soil tests. i believe you still need some granular, but the organic and slow release should slow down the upright growth spurt.

   Going away from granular is not unheard of. I still put out 2 1/4# a year and supplement with sprayables and foliars. I would not go to a straight foliar program and neglect the soil completely. With the quality sprayable N out there now, you could easily take out your granular.

   I do use primo every seven days in with my foliar program. I only like to dump clippings once after cutting 19 greens. Topdress bi-weekly in the spring up until around july when the bermuda starts growing like crazy. Then with my limited staff we Topdress when we get a chance too which isn't as much as I would like. No issues on our usga greens only the 4 native soil greens. Thanks for the help, I'm thinking of using a roots 3-3-3 for aerification next year an maybe some Bolster 4-4-4. The rest of the granular will come from K-mag. Any more input would be great! Thanks!
