Just wondering if anyone who has the gas powered golf carts, how you like them and how many rounds per tank do you get. Thanks, Rick Hoole Point Roberts Golf Course ,Wa.

    Rick,

Our fleet is gas primarily because it is stored outside but we like them. We have had club car DS and are now switching to Yamaha due to a lower bid. Yamaha is also supposed to be the most fuel efficient car for what little difference that makes.

We just finished our 5th year with the 60 DS cars and the problems were minor; micro switches, a couple batteries and three starter generators.

We usually fill any car near half a tank so I couldn't tell you how many rounds we get. I know some busy courses fill their carts once a week and the carts never run out of gas. It depends on elevation and length of course but I would think your dealer could give you that number.

    Hi Rick,

We have 4 year old Yamaha gas carts. We track our cart usage closely. In 2011 our carts averaged at least 31 miles per gallon. Yamaha claims their carts average 28.5 mpg, Club Car 25.5 mpg and Ez-Go 21.5 mpg. Yamaha carts have a 5.8 gallon gas tank. Using Yamaha's 28.5 mpg that would give you about 165 miles per tank or approximately (33) 18 hole rounds before our carts would run dry. I figure our average cart travels 5 miles for an 18 hole round.

Our golf course is fairly flat with very little elevation change. Our middle tees are 6,700 yards.

Recently I read that Yamaha is going to fuel injection on their carts. If that's the case their mileage should improve from the 4 year old model we have.
